Bob has 55 years of forest industry and is a well-respected member of a number of forestry organizations throughout the state. His experience includes assisting in the development of guidelines for sustainable management plans with the Forest Stewardship Council and Sustainable Forest Initiative during their introduction to industry in the early 1990s.
He has advised private forest landowners on the advantages of conservation easements as valuable tools for long term forest management plans. These management plans have become the global guidelines for certified wood products. More recently, Bob has been active in planning for and assisting with the management of terrestrial invasive species in an urban forest in Duluth.
