January 6, 2025
As of January 6, 2025, the Minnesota Invasive Terrestrial Plants and Pests Center (MITPPC) is accepting pre-proposals for new research projects on priority terrestrial invasive species!
If you're a University of Minnesota faculty, staff, or postdoc, you are eligible to apply for a grant as a principal investigator. The application will be open until April 11, 2025. We have $4 million available for this round of funding. Projects start January 2026. Proposals must address one or more priority terrestrial invasive species and one or more research themes.
About MITPPC's grant program
MITPPC administers a competitive grant program supported by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission for Minnesota Resources.
We encourage researchers to collaborate across disciplines and to develop partnerships with academic, local, state, federal, and Indigenous groups, and private institutions. MITPPC wants to see research findings implemented in the field, and external partnerships are integral to that goal.
If you have questions or would like us to review a draft proposal, please reach out to MITPPC director, Rob Venette, [email protected].
We look forward to reviewing new proposals!
